Feinknopf Macioce Schappa Architects was called upon to renovate two buildings, creating adaptive re-use for Columbus State Community College. The entire building overhaul required complete architectural and interior design services. The buildings were stripped to their shells and renovated, the roof was replaced with a 20 year modified bitumen system, and all mechanical systems were integrated. The finished building now houses: computer labs, art studio, specialized classroom facility for machine shop, including fabrication area with outside exhaust, lobby with waiting and resource space, storage rooms, adjunct faculty workstations, and staff offices. This project was completed under budget and three months ahead of schedule.
