Feinknopf Macioce Schappa Architects began work on Columbus State Community College’s Delaware Hall in 2007. Campus transitions had left the space vacant and provided the opportunity for renovation. FMS was selected to deliver comprehensive architectural and interior services for this major renovation. The project includes a significant addition on the center campus mallway that represents the first major construction in the heart of campus in several years.

We were able to effectively phase the renovation to allow the upper building floors to remain occupied with limited construction disruption. The renovated facility houses a new Public Safety Center, new Fitness Center, new Classrooms and Lab Space for the Department of Sports & Exercise Sciences, and IT Warehousing. The project worked with complex existing floor level changes and structural systems. We brought the area up to building code and into compliance with ADA guidelines. The Public Safety Center includes a shielded state-of-the-art Dispatch and Command Center that functions as the core of the campus communication and safety systems during both normal and emergency operations.
