FMS Architects was selected by OFCC to renovate this existing structure and to create 22,000 square feet of new office space for state staff. The project entailed gutting a portion of the building and upgrading the plumbing, electrical, HVAC and fire protection systems in order to make room for OAKS, HDRD and the procurement department offices. The interior design character and the MEP systems mesh seamlessly with the existing office areas. The project involved an extremely accelerated design schedule limited to 10 months from design kick-off to owner-occupancy. Not only did FMS Architects meet the schedule, but high-quality documents and services allowed the team to bring the project in under budget which allowed for the addition of much needed parking space. The building was occupied by other state agencies during construction. FMS Architects coordinated all shut-downs with the tenants to assure a smooth, effective and efficiently run construction project.
